My boss was super-nice and let me work from Houston after recruiting in College Station this week (so I could be in town for my wedding shower). I really miss Houston sometimes, especially during the Rodeo! I went to the cook-off with a few girlfriends, and met up with people from work.
One of my girlfriends wore her grandfather's belt which read "Slats" (his name), but looked a little different (her belt loop covered the "a", so imagine the jokes that followed).
The real reason I was in town was for a wedding shower my Aunt Kelly hosted (pics below). I felt so wonderful that so many people made time to come. Kelly is an amazing hostess, and I have a lot to learn from her.
I have tons of wedding "to-do's" on my list for tonight, so sorry for the short post, but I will try to do so again soon!
:)
I'm trying to "fit" a lot of things into my life at the moment. Home Decorating, Keeping up with Friends and Family, Work Scheduling, and trying to be Physically Fit are all prevalent themes in my days.. Join me on my "FINDING FITNESS" experience...

San Antonio!
Mom and I took a quick trip to San Antonio last weekend to shop and see Wicked!
Our first day was filled with the San Marcos outlet mall (including a stop at Cracker Barrel). I mean, how can you pass up diet root beer AND pineapple upside-down cake?
I made purchases at the following outlet stores:
Banana Republic
J. Crew
Nine West
Nike
Mom and I were lucky enough to visit with my brother for a few hours before the show, since he same to SA to buy a truck! Our hotel (Drury Riverwalk) had a great (included) breakfast and happy hour, and the gym was small, but everything worked in it!
Here we are before the show:
For the last night of shopping, Mom tried on dresses for the Wedding. She looked great in all of them, but doesn't feel like she found the winner, so I'll wait to post a picture until she does.. :)

Another snow day in the big D!
Kub and I were snowed in again today, so I did laundry, was tortured by Jillian Michael's DVD, cooked turkey chili for dinner tonight, and chicken tortilla soup for dinner tomorrow. At least I was productive!! :) Gap has a 40% off coupon (which the employees will give you if you ask)- for the next 4 Wednesdays. Here is what I plan to purchase over the next few weeks:
1) Modern Boot Jeans
$69.5 (+tax)- 40%= $45.14

1) Modern Boot Jeans

2) Modern Boot (Work Pants)
$59.50 on sale in stores for $45 (+tax)= $48.71
(I can't use the coupon on these, but will purchase anyway since my work pants aren't fitting right now)..

3) Cardigans for work:
$49.50 (+tax)- 40%= $32.15
This comes in a lighter pink, which I will wind up going with..

I don't need to be shopping, but I'm in serious need of work clothes! :)
On another note, I did a little on-line shopping tonight (thanks to Skinnyrunner.com), and purchased a new running outfit from 262aparrel.com.. I purchased the following:

Who says brown & black don't match- they're both neutrals! I'll wear this outfit with my black running shoes, and I needed something new to encourage my runs, which are getting longer on Sundays! :)
What do you think? :)

Andy Pettitte
A Pastor at our Church if the former Chaplain for the Astros, and had Andy Pettitte come speak today. He was nice enough to do a meet and greet afterwards:
He seems like a great guy, and he is very good looking!! His wife Laura sang at the service as well. What a beautiful family!!!
After church, Matt and I went to the mall, where he was easily distracted by the flying hovercraft (it was pretty cool, actually):
After the mall, we ate lunch at Celebration. I had the veggie plate (black eyed peas, mashed potatoes, squash casserole, broccoli/cauliflower/carrot medley, and chicken tortilla soup. Matt had chicken fried venison. We both totally indulged in the bread basket (pumpkin muffins, blueberry muffins, cornbread, and wheat rolls).. Needless to say, a CLUTCH nap followed lunch, then off to the gym for a 6 mile run (56.44), and upper body weight workout.
Now, being totally lazy, and about to enjoy the strawberry vanilla sprite zero that MB got me from Sonic!! Have a happy week at work- I hope everyone is able to catch up from the off-days last week!!

Stopped shopping, started spending!
So, today's shopping trip (5+ hours) was a success!! Largely thanks to my stylist for the day, Diana:
I found several outfits, and came home to take pictures with shoes to match (but not accessories). I found 2 other things that I LOVED, but did not purchase. One of them is this polkadot trench with a bow in the back from White House Black Market (link below):
http://www.whitehouseblackmarket.com/store/browse/product.jsp?maxRec=2&pageId=1&productId=570013592&viewAll=&prd=Tipped+MiniDot+Trench+Coat&subCatId=cat210014&color=&fromSearch=&inSeam=&posId=1&catId=cat210004&cat=Jackets++Coats+Outerwear&onSale=&colorFamily=&maxPg=1&size=
The other was a dress from Loft (brown and pink).. I can't find it on their website, but when I do, I'll post a link.. It would be a great work dress.
On to the purchases!!!
I found a new designer at Nordstrom that I enjoy- Julie Dillon. The blue dress below was purchased for my bachelorette party. I have been looking for a white dress, but I think I'll get more wear out of this one. As you can tell, I can't decide between the silver shoes and red steve madden.. :)
The other dress I seriously considered purchasing for this purpose was a white one-shoulder Shoshanna dress. I apologize for the fuzzy photo- obviously I didn't consider turning my flash off until later on.
After the bachelorette party dress, I had to pick a dress for Tristan's Wedding, and I bought 2- along with blush colored booties (on sale at Steve Madden). Which do you like better???
I also purchased a dress for one of the upcoming showers I have:

In other important news, I like the length of my bangs right now, walked a TON today, saw several athletes and rappers, and am on my way to eat dinner at Peggy Sue's BBQ- YUM!!!

Working on my Wish List...
I knew there would likely be celebs in Dallas this weekend, so Matt and I went to the Galleria to shop (without spending money), and look for famous people (FUN!!). I only saw one reality show personality, Jennifer Williams form VH1's Basketball wives:
Matt let me play with David Yurman Jewelry at Saks tonight, and the salesman told us some fun stories about the "Professional Women" who have migrated to Dallas for Superbowl Weekend.. I fell in LOVE with a few pieces of jewelry: David Yurman rings and earrings. I was surprised (and a little disappointed) to find out that David Yurman jewelry is primarily sterling silver, and will oxidize (start to turn colors with wear). That fact aside, I want a ring and matching pair of earrings, and here are my favorites:
Chocolate
Pearl
Onyx (couldn't find a pic of onyx earrings)
I would have to say my favorite combo would be the ring with a round stone and the round earrings (in either smoky quartz (chocolate), pearl, or onyx.. WHICH SHOULD I CHOOSE?!?!!?
In other shopping news, I found some Tory Burch sandals to lust over, as well as a lace Blazer (which sounds tacky, but I'm seriously considering the purchase:
CONCLUSION:
Today's superstar outfit would consist of:
DY chocolate ring, earrings, TB sandals, blazer, and cute summer shorts (when the snow melts away, of course).. Until then, I'll just hope that this pair of UGG's magically makes it's way on to my feet:
WISH ME LUCK ON MY CELEB SPOTTING TOMORROW!!!!!!

New Experience!
There is a large development that was proposed a few weeks ago at the City Council Meeting, but it faced some serious opposition, so I attended the meeting where our council members voted, to see how it turned out. I'm friends with one of the councilmen, and he txt me to speak, so I mustered up a little bravery, and spoke on behalf of the project (which passed)!! If you want to see my (super-nervous)- you can follow the link (it's 1/31/11, click video on the far right, in part 6 of 8, about 12 minutes to the end).

A few days later, one of the Leaders of LR said she was watching the meeting from home (they stream it live), and she awarded me class credit for speaking! It was a fun experience, but I'll better prepare next time. :)
